I am so going to visit the Ghibli Museum, hopefully in a couple of weeks. Miyazaki fans, commence being jealous.

I will make sure to do so! (Actually, i just found out that it's sold out on all the weekends of February, so I may not get to go until March...I may be able to squeeze in on the 19th of February, possibly, maybe...let's hope.)

If you can think of anything in particular you'd like, let me know, otherwise I'll pick something out that I'd think you'd like, which means I'll pick something out that I'd like if someone were buying for me. :-)
So, we ARE organizing a field trip to this as part of the 2007 WorldCon. There will be no discussion.
(It's so weird to hear Mitaka described as "a nice town" and "not part of Tokyo". It's a suburb. It's not part of Tokyo the way Brooklyn is not part of New York City.)
ooh! so jealous!

Ooo! Millenium Actress!
I think a trip to the Ghibli during Worldcon 2007 wouldn't cause too much arguing amongst those coming. hehe
Oh man. I am so jealous. You could make a fortune, you know, just taking orders for merchandise and charging 10% over the retail. Did you see the wonderful New Yorker piece about M and Ghibli?

Jeff, I don't think I did see that piece. I'll have to look for it now. If you have a link, though, hook me up. Thanks!
I can't find it online. I think it might be one of those pieces they don't post. I can always photocopy it and send it to you. Give me an address--email me at vanderworld@hotmail.com.
