This is not what I really wanted to read in the New York Times today. Ugh.

Yeah, well, we certainly needed more ways of discouraging people from voting.

I never had trouble getting my absentee ballot when I lived overseas, but then I was registered in California.

You might want to give the US Embassy a call. According to their web site you can get a special "Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot" if you can't return your state ballot in time -- it won't have any local races, but it's better than nothing.

If every damn citizen who wanted to was allowed to vote, there'd be anarchy!

This is a HOBBSIE update:

Loves turkey breast, and preferrs it in a dish rather than on a bun. I think we may need to teach Hobbes how to make a turkey breast sandwich after he steals the buns. He got his claws clipped this week, and dad won the battle of the two. I think he is taming down a bit. Must have been the wild influence of his master that rubbed off on Hobbes. We haven't signed Hobbes up for any karaoke team yet. That is a thought though. Not sure that Japan would be ready for Hobbsie yet. Take care all! Chris's Mom :)

Hey thanks for the link David. I'll give the embassy a call and see what's up.

I think Chance is the only person interested in Hobbes, Mom. hehe. You should just email her personally. I'll email you her address. ;-)
